Last month we had the pleasure of capturing Emma and Chris’ big day at the beautiful Chilston Park Hotel.
The forecast was not good, but the weather defied the orders and the day was one filled sun albeit tempered with a strong breeze!
I was shooting stills whilst Duncan was looking forward to capturing the day on video. Emma and her girls were in fine form and about to crack open a bottle of Prosecco on our arrival (which was a good sign!) and everything was going to plan and on time. Hair (by Kazz Warren Hair Design) and makeup (by Stacie Smith) were all in full flow and the girls were looking amazing!
The couples adorable little girl Amelie arrived to join in the prep and delighted us all by showing us her ballet moves while her Mum slipped into her incredible dress by Enzoani (from Bell Amore, Bexleyheath). Despite the wind we popped outside with the Bouquets to take advantage of capturing some shots of Emma and the Girls beautiful flowers (by Heather and Wood) within the landscaped gardens of Chilston Park, before catching up with Chris and his boys for his last hour as a ‘single man’!
The boys looked super smart in suits they had bought from Kenneth Cole at House of Fraser and we fired off lots of candid shots of guests arriving and greeting the Groom to be.
Emma was ready to make her way to the Ceremony in good time and we both took our places in the ceremony room as she swept in on the arm of her brother to see Chris smiling at her from the end of the aisle. And to the beautiful sound of The Greenwich String Quartet. I say Chris, but due to a slip up with the registrar, she nearly ended up marrying an ‘Alan’!! This slip-up was a source of amusement at the time, for the rest of the day and, I gather, ever since – which actually made for some lovely reaction shots for both stills and video during the ceremony!
Later, despite the wind, we were able to tick off all of those important group shots requested by Emma and Chris, before taking a short walk around the grounds with the couple themselves to capture some lovely shots of them as the new Mr & Mrs Alexander.
The wedding breakfast looked delicious and speeches were fantastic which lead on to a transformation of the room for the evening’s entertainment provided by Discologic.
After the couple had taken the floor for their first dance, they were surrounded by their family and friends to dance the rest of the night away. We left them to it with memories of a fantastic day and thanks to Emma, Chris and Amelie for letting us be a part of it xxx.
