We met Rachael and David when they moved in next door!!! A young couple with all their adventures together in front of them. As time went by they became engaged and we were delighted to be asked to be the photographers for their big day!
We caught up with Racheal, her Mum and Bridesmaids at the lovely Cooling Castle Barn to capture her prep. Stunning makeup by Rachel Glew Makeup Artist, and Hair by Lisa at Blushed Bridal Beauty had been completed during the morning and Rachael was cool, calm and collected as everything ran smoothly and to time. When we saw Rachael in her dress (from Alta Costura Brides, Maidstone) for the first time, it was a real wow moment. She looked so beautiful and I knew that David would be absolutely blown away when he saw her walking down the aisle.
David arrived with his Groomsmen looking very smart in their suits hired from Penguins, Rochester. All of the guys were in great fun spirits and it was lovely to meet both Rachael and David’s families rather than just smile and wave across the driveway as we had done on a couple of occasions before!
David took his place at the front of the Ceremony Room to await Rachael as she made her way down the aisle on the arm of her proud Dad.
The Ceremony was beautiful and both Rachael and David read each other special vows that they had written for the occasion.
After the ceremony, the drinks and conversation flowed nicely and we were able to capture some lovely candid shots of guests mingling before we made our way through the priority formal shots that were important to Rachael and David.
After those were swiftly completed, we whisked our Bride and Groom to a few locations around the stunning grounds of Cooling Castle Barn and managed to pop into the field opposite to capture some lovely shots of the couple alone with the backdrop of the freshly ploughed cornfield. Although it was admittedly a little spiky underfoot, Rachael and David were more than happy to sit on our blankets for some cuddly shots.
Speeches were beautiful and from the heart, after which was a wonderful meal served by the fab catering staff from Cooling Castle Barn.
The Reception Barn was decorated in a very classic Black and White theme with swags and chair dressing by Your Beautiful Day and Estas Chair Covers while Flowers were arranged in striking tall glass vases by Floral Explosion.
A modern twist on the usual Wedding Cake was provide by a square, diagonally tiered cake by Cakesy and Bakesy.
As the sun dipped we nipped outside with Rachael and David (and with two of the team from BAR Wedding Films who had captured the day on film for Racheal and David) to capture a couple of shots in the ‘Golden Hour’ and after their first dance we left them to party the night away with their family and friends.
Rachael and David, it was an honour and privilege that you asked us to be a part of your day, it was lovely to see you both so happy and in love…. And thanks for the cake that you brought round the next day – It was absolutely delicious!!
